Andy represents one of our Hope Works called Compassion UK. Compassion work with churches across the globe to bring education, poverty relief and support to children most in need.

At Hope Church we care about serving those amongst us and in our community who are most in need. Over this year we want to take the time to profile the great work that our Hope Works are doing and also find ways in which we can be a force for good in our community. You may have heard the phrase before the last, least and lost. This comes from Jesus teaching in Matthews gospel.

“the last will be first, and the first will be last” - Matthew 20:16

"Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these you did for me." - Matthew 25:40

“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost” - Matthew 18:11

In these verses we see that the last will be first, the least will be given to and the lost will be saved. As we hear from guests who are working hard to serve those least fortunate we will hear more about the needs our communities face and be encouraged to continue to play our part in remembering to help others and share Jesus.

In Exodus chapter 12 the people of God prepare to leave Egypt. In this talk Chris shows how this passage teaches us that God is sovereign over his people, faithful to his promises and one to be trusted even through difficult circumstances. At the start of this talk, Chris also gives an update regarding our Hope Works - the umbrella term for our the organisations that we support in Guildford and beyond.

In Exodus 7 to 10 we get the first 9 plagues. Moses comes to Pharaoh and tells him to let go of the people. Pharoah's heart attitude and response teaches us about how we might also respond, when we are asked to let go of things that can bind us in slavery. Chris explores some of these in this talk.
