Trials reveal the heart and the heart reveals the man. We look at the condition of David’s heart in the cave of Adullam and consider what it is for one’s heart to be ‘steadfast’.

David sang in the cave of Adullam of the God who fulfils all his purposes. What reason did David have for saying that? We explore the links between David and Christ and see that the Father also accomplished all his purposes in the son.

As Jesus and the disciples head out of Jerusalem on the evening after eating the Passover supper, Jesus predicts that all of them will fall away that night, Peter defends himself ardently saying ‘even if everyone else falls away, I will not.’ We look together at the dangers of self assurance and man’s tendency to think more highly of himself than scripture warrants.

We rejoin David in Adullam's Cave, looking together at Psalm 57; a Psalm of triumph written at a time of adversity and trial. How was it that David was able to come to such a place of faith when everything around him seemed to be going wrong?

This passage covers Judas’s plot to betray Jesus and also the last supper on the night before Jesus was crucified. We focus on the disciples preparation both for the last supper and for what was to come next. We also take a look at the inauguration of the Eucharist, what did Jesus mean when he said ‘this is my body?’

Continuing through Psalm 34 we look together at verse 18 and see God’s compassion towards the broken and the hurting.
