In our final week focussing on Mark 13 we look at Jesus’s command to ‘stay awake’. What does it mean for us to be awake? How should we position ourselves in light of Christ’s second coming?

We continue our study of the spiritual gifts. Focussing on 1 Corinthians 12 and 13 we consider the diversity of gifts and also their unity in function.

We continue our series on the Church this week looking afresh at the gifts of the Spirit. Looking at the twelfth chapter of Paul's first letter to the Corinthian church we ask; what are the Spiritual gifts and what is their purpose and function in the Church today?

We begin our study through chapter 13 of Mark’s gospel, once of the most incredible and most contentious passages in the whole Bible. Jesus predicts the destruction of the temple and tells His disciples of the signs that will signal the beginnings of the birth pains.

Focussing in on Acts chapter 1 we look at what it means for the Church to be baptised in the Holy Spirit.

Mark 12:38-44 contains a strong warning from Jesus about certain ‘money loving’ scribes. This is contrasted with the account of the poor widow who’s offering at the temple pleased Jesus. What can we learn from these two stories about real vs fake spirituality?

At Pentecost the Apostle Peter preached the first sermon of the new covenant Church. He speaks of a promise that is ‘to you, your children, and to all who are far off’, we dive into the significance of the phrase and see that God’s people are a people of covenant.

Jesus asks why the scribes say that the Messiah will be David’s son when in Psalm 110 David calls Him, Lord. We pick up on Jesus’s view of scripture and also learn more about His nature as our redeemer.
