This is my ridiculous and embarrassing attempt to tell you why it is that I do what I do. I walk you through from my home coming and devastating realization that my father's dementia is not only real, but fatal. I talk about my struggle with hope, finishing power, and entitlement. Then I smash into the wall when the Doctor confirms the dementia and cracks our skulls with the bat of hopelessness. I explain why I could not accept that and launched into an unstoppable quest to reach into the darkness and pull my father out. Tired, weary, and in heaps of pain we cross the finish line together. But we got so much more than a company, or a vitamin.
