San Diego Comic-Con is always a place for fans to look forward to announcements from their favorite comic book publishers, television studios, and movie studios. This year though was a bit different. At least when it came to announcements regarding the DC movie universe. Gone were the roadmaps pointing to a decade in the future showcasing all of the movies that DC was going to release showcasing their various super heroes. Instead, fans were given highlights of what DC is already working on. It's a simple variation from years past, but it's significant.While "Worlds of DC" was not officially announced as the replacement to the DCEU, a giant banner was shown during the Warner Brothers presentation saying "Welcome to the Worlds of DC" so it's only natural that everyone on the Internet took that to mean that the DCEU is dead. Of course, our panelists felt the need to jump in and look at what DC is doing with their movie properties and how things might be different going forward. Incredibles 2 has been making waves at the box office pulling in more than $775 million worldwide since its release last month. It's no secret that Star Wars fans have been unhappy as of late. And based on actions from a very vocal and passionate portion of the fandom, it looks like Rian Johnson and Kathleen Kennedy's The Last Jedi is to blame. To show their displeasure, they are protesting any and all new Star Wars projects. They are also taking credit for the lackluster success of Solo: A Star Wars Story.Grace Randolph from the YouTube channel Beyond the Trailer is reporting that as a result of the displeased fandom, Disney CEO, Bob Iger had a secret meeting to discuss the possibility of firing Lucasfilm boss, Kathleen Kennedy. The World Health Organization recently announced that they officially recognize video game addiction as a mental health disorder. They say that the intention of classifying "gaming disorder" is so that medical professionals can be “alerted to the existence of this condition.” This in turn will make it easier for professionals to help those who may be suffering from this newly recognized disorder.This week, the panel attempts to discuss exactly how legitimate of a disorder video gaming addiction truly is. Is it real, merely a "boogeyman," or is there is actually something else at play (pun intended). Cyberbullying is a problem that's becoming more and more prevalent in our Internet-connected society. Unfortunately, this is a problem that has left a trail of devastation in its wake. It has also started leading to toxic fandoms within the geek community. But with Star Wars actress Kelly Marie Tran leaving Instagram, and Millie Bobbie Brown from Stranger Things leaving Twitter, among other examples, it seems that celebs have had enough.This week, the panel discusses what can be done about the increasingly hateful and angry Internet, how prevalent cyberbullying and online harassment actually are, and what can be done to end all of the hate. Hereditary Angioedema (HAE) is a very rare and potentially life-threatening genetic condition that occurs in about 1 in 50,000 people. Its symptoms include swelling in various body parts including the hands, feet, face, and airway. Patients also often have bouts of excruciating abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting caused by swelling in the intestinal wall.This week, we chat with that 1 in 50,000 people. Jayme Cifuentes has lived with HAE for years, four of which were misdiagnosed.
