Every one of us operates with a basic fear. The root of that fear is a lie that we believe about ourselves. What if you could know that God sees you and hears you, is fully aware of your feelings of rejection, shame, guilt, abandonment, inadequacy, helplessness, hopelessness, or worthlessness and has the remedy? The answer is to identify the lie, renounce the lie and speak God’s Truth over yourself. In this message, Pastor Bob reveals four truths about who God says you are.
Through Jesus, God has met all the conditions for us to draw closer to Him. We can draw near to God with a true heart, a confident faith, cleansed hearts and be washed with pure water. As we draw near to God, we will discover that we will see the world differently, our prayers will change, we will experience joy, walk in purpose, and be bold in our true identity.
As we hunger to draw close to God, as we recognize that we desperately need God, as we ask God good questions, as we obediently receive challenges, not only will we be closer to God, but we will be walking in purpose. We will destroy generational sin passed on to us. And, we will be living in freedom. Let's live in that freedom and contend for others!
As we draw closer to God, we are reminded of His goodness which allows us to see how He reveals Himself all the time. Remembering who God is and what He has done allows us to walk in obedience to be the person God has made us to be. Don't quit! You are closer than you think!
Have you made assumptions and been mistaken? In Jesus' time, many made assumptions about who He was and what Jesus was going to do. In this message, Pastor Angel addresses the assumptions we often make about Jesus and that when we gain clarity on who He is, that clarity allows for closeness.
Fear is one of the enemy's most powerful weapons he uses against us. Worry, anxiety, and fear can overwhelm us with a thick shadow of darkness, controlling our every move and decision. How do we move past fear and to a place of trust and faith? In Laura's message, discover how and why we are refined through pain and when we do things scared. We are refined in the daily surrender.
Jesus prayed for us all to be one with Him. That means being in a relationship. That means that what Jesus did was enough. He did all that He could so that we would be joined together as one and experience the same unity as the Father and the Son. What if it's really that simple?
God desires to be close to us. He is pursuing us and wants you to draw near to Him as He draws near to you! After a summer of possibly moving away from God, now is the time to draw closer.
Pastor Angel shares a few take-aways from his summer-long sabbatical. One of the biggest take-aways was that God was pursuing him the entire time. God is pursuing you. He's pursuing you through His Son, Jesus. He's pursuing you through His Word, the Bible. He's pursuing you through His people, the Church. He's pursuing you through your circumstances, the good and the bad.
In our Summer Series — “God Encounters: the Momentous and the Mundane” — we will explore accounts in the Bible of God encountering ordinary people; see examples from recent church history – in the past 250 years — of God encounters with ordinary people who changed the world, and hear stories from people here at HOPE of their encounters with God and the transformation that followed.
Have you ever felt like the world around you was crashing down? What happened? How do we typically respond in the midst of chaos and crisis? Who do we turn towards? This week, Justin Farley helps us answer these questions as he shares insights from Paul's encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus and looks back on the life of John Wesley.
