Story Transcript:

Cy: Wrth i'r eira guro yn erbyn ffenestri'r siop lyfrau, roedd Eira yn syllu allan, yn meddwl am y penderfyniadau a oedd yn ei hwynebu.
En: As the snow beat against the windows of the bookstore, Eira stared out, pondering the decisions facing her.

Cy: Nid oedd hi wedi disgwyl bod yn Betws-y-Coed dros y gaeaf, ond dyna lle'r oedd hi, yng nghwmni ei brawd hanner, Geraint.
En: She hadn't expected to be in Betws-y-Coed over the winter, but that's where she was, in the company of her half-brother, Geraint.

Cy: Roedd y ddau wedi etifeddu'r siop lyfrau gan eu tad, dyn a oedd yn caru llyfrau yn fwy na dim.
En: The two had inherited the bookstore from their father, a man who loved books more than anything.

Cy: Roedd hi'n noswaith oer a thrist.
En: It was a cold and dreary evening.

Cy: Roedd y fflamiau yn dawnsio yn y lle tân mawr, gan daflu golau cynnes ar y wal gerrig.
En: The flames danced in the large fireplace, casting a warm glow on the stone wall.

Cy: Roedd Geraint yn eistedd wrth y cownter, yn troi dalennau catalog eiddo.
En: Geraint sat by the counter, flipping through pages of a property catalog.

Cy: "Rhaid i ni werthu'r lle 'ma," meddai, ei lais yn gadarn.
En: "We have to sell this place," he said firmly.

Cy: "Byddai'r arian yn help mawr.
En: "The money would be a big help."

Cy: "Ond roedd Eira yn edrych ar y silffoedd gorlawn gyda llygaid llawn hiraeth.
En: But Eira looked at the overcrowded shelves with eyes full of longing.

Cy: "Ond ystyriwch faint o hanes sydd yma," ymatebodd, ei llais yn feddal.
En: "But consider how much history is here," she replied softly.

Cy: "Mae'r lle 'ma yn rhan o'n gorffennol.
En: "This place is part of our past."

Cy: "Cyfododd ei frawd a cherdded at y ffenestr, gan droi ei gefn ar y llyfrau.
En: Her brother stood and walked to the window, turning his back on the books.

Cy: "Dydy gorffennol ddim yn talu biliau, Eira," dywedodd o'r pen.
En: "The past doesn't pay bills, Eira," he said decisively.

Cy: Twpchraf oedd i'r sgwrs yna ddod i ben pan ddechreuodd y storm dychrynllyd chwythu drwy'r pentref.
En: Their conversation was cut short when the terrible storm began to blow through the village.

Cy: Bu raid iddynt gloi'r drws yn dynn a chynhesu rhag y gwynt rhewllyd.
En: They had to lock the door tightly and warm themselves against the freezing wind.

Cy: Roedd y storm wedi eu gorfodi i aros yn y siop, mewn lle cyfyng lle roedd rhaid trafod.
En: The storm forced them to stay in the shop, in a restricted space where they had to discuss.

Cy: Ymhen amser, yng ngoleuni cysurus y tân, dechreuon nhw siarad yn fwy gonest.
En: In time, in the cozy glow of the fire, they began to talk more honestly.

Cy: "Eira," meddai Geraint, "Dw i'n deall eich cysylltiad gyda'r lle 'ma.
En: "Eira," said Geraint, "I understand your connection to this place.

Cy: Ond, sut byddai'n bosib i ti wneud i hyn weithio?
En: But, how could you make this work?"

Cy: "Roedd Eira yn gwybod nad oedd ateb cyflym.
En: Eira knew there was no quick answer.

Cy: Ond roedd yn gwybod hefyd bod arni angen rhoi tro arni.
En: But she also knew she needed to give it a try.

Cy: "Dw i eisiau aros ychydig mwy o amser," dywedodd, "a gweld os allaf roi bywyd newydd i'r lle.
En: "I want to stay a little longer," she said, "and see if I can breathe new life into the place."

Cy: "Edrychodd Geraint arni, ei lygaid yn llawn o gydmdeimlad newydd.
En: Geraint looked at her, his eyes filled with newfound empathy.

Cy: "Gad drafoda s'de?
En: "Let's negotiate, shall we?"

Cy: " cynigiodd.
En: he suggested.

Cy: "Gawn ni stopio'r cynlluniau gwerthu am hyn o bryd a gweld lle mae'r syniad 'ma'n mynd.
En: "Let's stop the selling plans for now and see where this idea goes."

Cy: "Wrth i'r ystorm gilio, roedd y ddau ohonynt wedi newid.
En: As the storm subsided, both had changed.

Cy: Roedd Eira wedi dod yn benderfynol i roi cynnig ar fywyd newydd yn y siop lyfrau, i ymroi iddo go iawn.
En: Eira became determined to try for a new life at the bookstore, to truly devote herself to it.

Cy: Roedd Geraint, ar y llaw arall, wedi gollwng ei ystyfnigrwydd a chanfod mwy o bris yn ei deulu nag mewn gwerth ariannol.
En: On the other hand, Geraint had let go of his stubbornness and found more value in his family than in monetary worth.

Cy: Ac felly, wrth i wrid y wawr gyntaf ddisgleirio trwy'r eira, roedd gobaith newydd ar y gorwel.
En: And so, as the first blush of dawn shone through the snow, there was new hope on the horizon.
