A survey of Galatians 5

What new song does Psalm 98 tell us to sing- Why, Psalm 98, of course- A song about the then-upcoming glorious work of Christ's coming to save, and about the still-upcoming glorious work of Christ's coming to judge.

When Christ is our everything in justification and sanctification, we find our identity in Him, look for all blessing only from Him, and have great affection for all who are His.

Christ sings His Word through our mouths, -accompanied- by grace in our hearts, in congregational singing. The Lord tells us what to sing, how to sing, and to whom to sing.

The apostle sums up the entire letter with his own large handwriting- God forbid if I should boast in anything but the cross of Jesus Christ-

Preaching is a gloriously dangerous and gloriously gracious biblical component of congregational worship on the Lord's Day, in which Jesus Himself is speaking from heaven to prepare us for the new heavens and the new earth.

What does it mean to share all good things with those who teach us the word- What does it mean to do good to all- What does it mean to do good especially to the household of faith- If you've been studying carefully through Galatians 4-1-6-5, you will be prepared to understand more fully Galatians 6-6-10.

Why is it in the second commandment that God calls Himself a jealous God and refers to those who keep it as those who love Him, and those who break it as those who hate Him- Because He has truly given Himself to us, and trying to have Him in some other way is to prefer our version over the living and true God.
