We regard God as holy in worship by giving priority to -the Lord spoke- over anything we feel, and to the instructions of God to the exclusion of the ideas of men, wholly devoting ourselves to the consecrated duty to which we have been called for that time.

Since we come near to God in public worship, we must treat Him as holy, by God-commanded actions-and corresponding attitudes-that come through Christ alone.

The apostle gives us a list of the works of the flesh, so that we may rightly recognize whether we are battling with the Spirit or against Him. If we find that we are consistently battling against Him, we can be sure that we are not inheriting the kingdom.

There are two potential redeemers for Naomi in Ruth 4-1-12--one admirable and one less so. There's a war raging, and the Holy Spirit is on one side, for our good. Once we are determined to battle against our remaining sin, we may be much encouraged to know that with our almighty Ally, we must ultimately win. And because we received the Spirit as those redeemed by Christ, even the Law becomes our rewarder rather than our condemner-

God is seeking the true worship to which He Himself provides the only access, so God is seeking worshipers to whom He gives that access
