When examining the kind of family leadership that God commends to us as a blessing through Abraham's servant's grateful praise, we find that it consists of communication with one another and consideration for one another, both of which flow from wholehearted consecration of each one unto God.

The same Christ who called us and freed us is the only One who can grow us and make us effective in the Christian life. But, resting in Christ for this must be resting in Christ -alone- for this. To try to mix in the ideas or strength of man is to have Christ Himself profit us nothing.

Christ's strength is perfected and glorified in our weakness. Thus we should be content in all our weaknesses and glad in Christ's strength and grace.

With Abraham's servant, we go from watching Rebekah intently to see whether the journey was a success to on our faces in an explosion of worship unto God for prospering that journey. What had the servant seen- A bride for the covenant son who is believing, kind, diligent, generous, strong, persevering, and trustworthy-

Believers are to approach marriage as something directed by God, dependent upon God, and devoted to God.

As Abraham comes to the end of his life, his top priority is to see his son in a marriage that is directed by God's Word, dependent upon God's providence, and devoted unto God's glory

In the last devotional in the Gospel of John, Jesus and Peter are walking along the beach and Peter gets distracted from following Christ by comparing his service and circumstances to someone else's. But John directs our attention back to Christ- the God-man who loved us and gave Himself for us.

Becuase nothing else would do, God gave His own Son for us, to forgive us so that He justly might make us like Him
