Though in our sanctification we keep the law, the ability to do so comes only by faith in Christ. To make law-keeping into what powers our sanctification is to undo justification by grace through faith.

The Lord who promises redemption in Christ produces in those whom He redeems- living faith in Jesus Christ, laughing joy over his redemption, and loving desire that others would also be redeemed.

Boldness and Humility

Do you have areas in your life where God's ordinary ways seem to not be working for you- How can you know that the Lord will fulfill his good and perfect will toward you-

Christ is the cornerstone, and he is exactly what God indent to build His Church upon.

The Gospel is not made of a man's pedigree, past, or performance. It is the work of a person, Jesus Christ.

Laying something else down alongside the Gospel is to turn away from the gospel altogether. This was a SURPRISE to the apostle--which warns us that we must be watchful of ourselves, for this happens to those about whom it is a surprise. The SERIOUSNESS of this is not just because an important doctrine is at stake, but because turning away from the gospel is turning away from a -Person---Jesus Himself. And the SEVERITY of the consequences are such that those who turn away from Jesus suffer everlasting condemnation under His wrath.
