Since the Lord Jesus insists that it is Himself that He breaks unto us for nourishment, and that it is the covenant in His blood in which we participate as we drink the cup... worthy partaking must be done by saving faith. This kind of faith is one in which one believes in the heart and confesses with the mouth. Those elders who put the elements into communicants' hands dare not do so without a credible profession of faith, lest they put judgment and wrath into the hands of those to whom they intended to minister.

We must depend on God's method for the growth and shepherding of the Church.

By sustaining our faith, God frees us from folly, frees us for obedience, and feeds us upon everlasting hope and joy.

Discipleship depends upon God's power and therefor must employ God's methods and follow God's plan

Believers stumble in their faith, but God's grace overrules our weakness and remaining sin.

Since a true Christian is one who has experienced the resurrection power of Christ within himself, he should not treat as a small thing the power and authority of Christ that is exercised in church discipline.

Main Idea- When God gives saving faith to undeserving and helpless sinners, it produces fruit in their lives.--Introduction- Adam's children's need for Abrahamic faith.--1.
