While we will certainly experience eternal Life in heaven — no longer inhibited by a fallen world — eternal Life is not a synonym for heaven. To take hold of eternal Life means, on a daily basis, to be “alive” (“zoe” – the Life of God through His Spirit) and experience an intimate relationship with Jesus in the midst of every aspect of my journey. “Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent” (John 17:3).
