Horror Movie Review, The "You Run" Podcast

A Wild Card pick won this weeks poll and it really is a wild one!

Today a dive into the surreal world of Slumber Party Massacre II. A film that has noting in common with the first film apart from a very loose tie in character.

Dream demons? Sexual fantasy? Musical? not entirely sure what this film is or what it is saying... That doesn't for a second mean that we don't have a lot of fun with it.

Pillow fight anyone?

This week a dive into a cult classic that has been imitated by numerous movies since it's release back in 85.

Re-Animator follows Herbert West and his desire to Re-Animate human flesh with (let's be honest) mixed results.

A film that offers goofy comedy intertwined with great practical effects, some nudity and the most vile villain we have found in quite some time...

This episode also includes 3 word reviews from our listeners and a fun game that you can play along with at home.

This week a dive into John Carpenter's They Live. A film that has cemented itself as a cult classic and still as relevant now as it was on it's release.

We follow Nada (Rowdy Roddy Piper) as he goes on a journey of discovery to find out that billionaires, governments and elites are corrupt and driven by power and money. He also uncovers that a secret organisation of invading aliens are behind it all demanding that we Obey, Conform and Consume.

This episode contains our review of the movie along with lots of production facts. As always no episode would be complete without your involvement in voicemails and 3-word reviews.

Our guest had to bail on us last minute for this episode which is a little disappointing but it did lead to a very inventive and brand new game for you all to play along with so... (every cloud has a silver lining)

If you love 80's classics or two guys drawing comparisons with a fictional movie and our current global landscape this one will be a lot of fu for you!

Do you dream of a younger, fitter, better version of this podcast? Well if you do today your wish is kind of granted as we revert to teenage boys for a good 10 minutes while discussing The Substance!

A film that not only gives us a glimpse that Hollywood can still create unique and incredible body horrors but one that also contains one of the greatest performances of an actress in history.

This episode we dive into all of the bits we love and a few that we don't love as much while giving you some incredible production facts.

We also have a whole host of voicemails, 3-word reviews and a game that will blow your mind.

Don't miss out on this incredible episode.

This week we take a dive into Christophe Gans's latest addition to the Silent hill Franchise. Return to Silent Hill.

When a mysterious letter calls James Sutherland back to Silent Hill in search of his long lost love. He finds a once recognisable town has become a foggy nightmare.

We are also very delighted and privileged to welcome Pyramid Head himself "Robert Strange" to the show for an interview about his role in the film and all of his very exciting upcoming projects.

This episode is one not to miss that showcases not only an incredible up and coming talent but also our honesty about a film that didn't land for us in all areas.

The film is a coming of age story in a post apocalyptic world as we follow Spike's journey to manhood. With stand out performances and impeccable visuals you would expect this to be universally loved.

However with the addition of a character based off of real life monster Jimmy Saville and a departure from the raw gritty style of the originals it has divided audiences and the two hosts of our very own show.

We offer a deep dive into what we liked and what we didn't along with production facts and a game. This episode gets heated at times as we strongly disagree about the path this film took. - You have been warned!

Deep Blue Sea is one of the most beloved creature features of the 90's and it is easy to see why.

A crazy scientist makes Mako sharks bigger and more intelligent in an attempt to cure Alzheimers then gets upset when the sharks use their newly gifted size and brain power to eat people.

It is super fun and one that both me and Marc enjoy thoroughly. Based off of your 3-word reviews you agree too.

This episode is a blast under the sea!

Today a change to the hosting team as Marc is unable to make the recording for a mystery reason. That's ok though as I am joined by the incredible Kate from Down Under to discuss one of the most hated on Alien movies in the entire franchise.

Full disclosure both me and Kate love Alien 3 and David Fincher but this does not stop us acknowledging and diving into all of the studio caused flaws in this production.

Kate is also the first guest of the year to tackle our 2026 quiz "Meltdown" in an explosive attempt, could our brand new quiz get smashed right out of the gate?

This epsiode also contains interactive features, deep dive analysis of Alien 3 and a whole lot of fun!

Today we complete our coverage of the JAWS franchise with a deep dive into the 3rd and only 3D instalment.

A film that gives us not only a new perspective to view JAWS but also a bunch of characters that are so overplayed it is hilarious. Clearly the influence for the movie Deep Blue Sea, JAWS 3D mixes science fiction with a giant SeaWorld advert to bring us this 80s classic.

This episode not only includes our revie and movie facts but also interactive features and games too.

We rarely give spoilers to where reviews are headed in the episode description and today will be no different. all we are going to say is that this podcast has two very different perspectives. One from someone who has never played the games and has no nostalgia to the franchise. the other from someone who has played all of the games and loves the lore that surrounds them.

Both of these perspectives reached the same conclusion.

So join us as we dive head first into our animatronic suits for this run through Five nights at Freddy's 2.

This episode also includes interactive features and the new quiz for 2026.
