We talk about the political climate, other timely 2019 releases, the fact that Samara Weaving is a POWERHOUSE, and, of course, about how rich people suck. We also flipped the script, so Jaime brought the research for this rewatch while Eric keeps the plot straight. (Easier said than done!)

This week we tackled James Cameron’s sci-fi action film which has big guns, big xenomorphs, and even bigger explosions! Eric defends this past favorite while Jaime grapples with the tonal shift from Alien. At least we’ll always have Ripley. 🖤

We’re going classic this week with Universal’s Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954). If you like black and white films,  1950's 3D,  groundbreaking underwater effects, and harpoon-wielding dudes in short shorts, you’re going to like this one. Eric brings the history of the monster movie format from Universal Horror, 3D, Milicent Patrick, and a musical (???) while Jaime questions everything she knows about this subgenre.  See what inspired Guillermo Del Toro to make Shape of Water, where a woman falls in love with a Gill Man! This deep sea Universal Monster horror movie is definitely worth a watch, it's one of the old school best horror movies around!
