The goal of the discipline of God is not to drive you away, but to bring you in and remind you of His great love for you. Hosea 2:1-20, we see that God's love is tough, but is also tender towards us. God truly wants the best for us, and the best for us is in a right relationship with Him, so He may limit us and remove things in our life we idolize over Him, but at the same time He is also relentless, gentle, and restorative in how He pursues us.
