Praying, for anyone, is a sacred, important and worthwhile act.

And while praying for the “innocents” is as well, is it not the least?

For the innocents do not remain innocent, no matter how hard we pray. And those who do, only do so because they are taken before their innocence can be lost, and are thus no longer in need of our prayers, for they are already found with our Lord.

It is the prayers for the rest of us, the not-so-innocent, the ones for whom no one wants to pray…that are the most.
