Has Lana Del Rey being seen at Black Lives Matter protests erased her being cancelled? Today we are bringing up the recent cancellation of Lana Del Rey. In late May, Del Rey penned ‘For The Culture’, an open letter that was attacked her industry peers for being praised for topping charts with lustful tunes, while she was judged for singing about toxic relationships. The problem? She name-dropped almost exclusively women of colour, from Doja Cat to Kehlani to Beyonce. In this mini, Ash takes charge as she discusses Lana's recent Instagram statement which has seen her as the new Queen of ‘white feminism’. Indi check's in to briefly discuss cancel culture, before it's back to Ash going over white people using black code and so much more. We also give a quick history lesson of those women of colour who have done her craft before with the like of Nina Simone & Keyshia Cole. As long-time fans of the woman themselves, Ash & Indi pose the ultimate question of one can seperate art from the artist.
