Hot Potato
A controversial or difficult issue that people do not want to deal with and pass on to others.

Examples:
1- In a group project, the task of writing the final report was a hot potato. Each group member kept suggesting someone else should handle it, leading to a lot of amusing arguments over who would do it.
2- Deciding who will host the family reunion has turned into a hot potato, with everyone trying to avoid it.
