It is important to note that the purpose of Christmas is not only to spend time with family and give gifts, but to remember the birth of Jesus. Without Jesus, there is no hope for the world. Christmas provides an opportunity for believers to recognize the power and hope that Jesus brings to the world and to reflect on the significance of this event.   If Jesus Christ was never born on this day, there is no hope for humanity. Jesus came to give us eternal life and abundant life. He showed us that even in the darkest of times, there is light and hope if we put our faith and trust in Him.  Through His birth, Jesus reminded us of God's unending love and mercy for us and that He desires for us to live in freedom from sin and experience the joy and peace that come from living in fellowship with Him. 

Pastor Dr. Olubunmi Oni talks about the importance of operating in God's will.   What does the will of the Lord mean? It is the manifesto of God; it is the Bible in and out; it is that commandment of the Lord, and when you operate in the will of the Lord, there are so many things that the Lord will do for you. Operating in the will of the Lord is a way to receive blessings from God, which can come in many forms, including material blessings, spiritual blessings, peace of mind, and a closer relationship with God.   But unfortunately, the church has turned into something else, operating in the knowledge of our own will. So many churches are taking the glory from the Lord and attributing it to themselves. Instead of having God as a superstar, we now have superstars in our churches. We have people we worship now in churches instead of having the Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us on the cross.  I mean, in some churches, you'd rather obey the man of God than God. In other words, we often place too much emphasis on man-made traditions and practices rather than focusing on the teachings of God and Jesus. This can be a slippery slope because it does not promote godly values and instead fosters a culture of self-worship and idolatry.  How many times have we burned our fingers simply because we did not consult the Lord? How many times have we dabbled in businesses that we have no business going into and then said, "Oh Lord, you didn't consult him in the first instance?" How many times have our younger ones been dumbled into a relationship that God does not glorify and that is regrettable in the end? These experiences highlight the importance of Godly values and a commitment to consulting Him before engaging in any activities, regardless of how insignificant they may seem. The Bible exhorts us in Proverbs 3:5–6 to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto thine own understanding."

Brother Dami Olu talked about Living Successfully with Supernatural Joy.   John 3 16 says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life." If you put your faith in God, he will reward you with eternal life, which is a form of supernatural joy.  You might be wondering why these temptations are so strong and why they're coming at you so quickly. You see, God's giving you joy because you're resisting the temptation! If you don't resist, they'll come easily. So resist, and God will give you joy.

Pastor Goke Afolayan says that a member of a local church must respect, honor, and obey his pastor and the church leaders, and he encourages members to give honor to whom honor is due and respect the leaders. We must also be willing to participate in the church’s events and activities, attending services and offering our time, talent, and resources in whatever capacity we are able to give in order to support the mission of the church and to grow in our own Christian walk   It is a must, not an option, that we, as members of the body of Christ, most actively participate in the local church and support its mission.  A Christian must pay his tithes and offerings faithfully and regularly to his local church, where he receives spiritual nurture, that is, where he is being blessed, not somewhere where he used to be. Church members should volunteer their time, energy, and resources to ensure that the mission of the local church continues and succeeds.  Finally, he also exhorts us to maintain unity, as one of the major ways that the devil uses to attack the church is division or disunity, and not allow the enemy to creep through the cleft of disunity.   To sum up, we must remain loyal and devoted to our local church, work together to make it successful, and never let the devil’s schemes of disunity cause us to turn away from what is supposed to be our spiritual home.

Brother Solomon Omosule states that pride, or an inflated sense of one's own importance, can be detrimental to achieving Glorious Liberty. Satan's pride represents the actual beginning of sin in the universe, preceding the fall of the human race by an indeterminate time. Pride is seen as a major source of evil and as the root cause of sin because it allows humans to set themselves above God.

Brother Solomon Omosule's view is centered on humility, and we can see that this trait has the power to beat pride and lead to a life of glorious freedom.

If anyone wishes to acquire humility, they must understand that the first step is to recognize that one is proud and that this is a really big step because nothing else can be done before it. Only when one is willing to accept one's own pride and work to reject it can one acquire the humility necessary to experience true Glorious Liberty.

Fellowship, discipleship, and service, when put into action, make the church effective, make the church active, and get the church recognized in the community and the world at large. By engaging in these activities, members of the church have the opportunity to positively contribute to their community and become a part of something larger than themselves.  The local church has a part to play in molding the life of the new convert, and the new convert also has its own duty to the church. Fellowship within the church provides a sense of community, camaraderie, and encouragement for members as they continue their journey of faith.

In commemoration of the Anointed Pastor's Appreciation Worship Service, Sister Ronke Amusan gives a word of thanks to the men of God at GOFAMINT House of Hope and shares a brief reflection of the word about what pastors experience daily in their calling and work.
