Our bodies experience blockages throughout our lives that we are often unaware of. We might feel "off" or unbalanced, or even have pain that shows up unexpectedly. Sometimes we need hands-on assistance to help us work through the blockage and free our bodies.
For this week's episode of the Weekend Wellness Hour show, we dove into craniosacral therapy with registered nurse and business owner, Amy Rinkevich. Amy shared how this form of gentle hands-on treatment helps the functioning of fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord.
Early in her career, Amy sought a form of healthcare that went beyond the traditional that focuses on medications and surgeries and ended up studying craniosacral therapy over 20 years ago. She realized the power of creating movement in connective tissues such as fascia and saw the healing benefits with her patients.
Amy described what a treatment session looks like and what clients experience when they go through this form of therapy. We then discussed the conditions that can benefit from craniosacral treatment and how it helps with pain.
We explored which age groups benefit and why newborns could possibly benefit from this modality as well as the elderly and those with dementia. She explained a few cases where this hands-on approach might not be ideal.
Amy has her own practice working with clients in Tampa, Florida and has been in this space for over 20 years. Be prepared to learn a lot!
Please join us to learn how craniosacral therapy might benefit you or a loved one!
