We promised it would be weird and it is. We are dipping our turkey legs into the murky gravy of a Hallmark Thanksgiving movie: The Thanksgiving House. Join us as we watch Mary Ross inherit a home and a love interest in Plymouth historian Everett Mather, a man obsessively trying to prove the site of the first Thanksgiving. Will they learn to put personal interests aside in favor of love? Will they be thwarted by bad boyfriends and town gossips? Will Lauren and Ryan find the line of mockery and love of this movie? You have to tune in to find out.
There's a little witch in all of us...and this week we get bewitched, beguiled, and Bullocked with 1998's Practical Magic. Join us in a sleepy Massachusetts town where two sisters navigate magic, love, and finding sisterhood. In the late 90s both Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman were rising to the ascendancy that would mark the next 25 years of their careers. They are both deliciously charming in this movie, it is the perfect fall vibes, and it is decidedly rewatchable so How could you have never seen Practical Magic?
Get a black cat, a midnight margarita, and some spooky vibes for this hallmark of female empowerment from the 90s.
What do you get when you combine sword swallowing, make up design, burlesque, acting, filmmaking, and choice film references? You get Pippsy Pinwheel, a performer whose talents are so numerous we can't list them all here. After seeing her perform at Pennsylvania's Renaissance Faire, and catching all of her film references in her show, we knew we had to get a behind the scenes look into her act, her journey to follow her dreams, and the reason for all of those prime movie references.

It's back to school time, and we are back to our original concept: filling gaps in our film knowledge! For the first time in awhile it's a gap for both of us, the 1975 classic film - Cooley High. Directed by Michael Schulz and written by Eric Monte the ripple effect of this film is endless. As a launchig pad for actors, an inspiration to some of your favorite directors, and the legacy of Eric Monte's influence on television, Cooley High is a special film. Set in Chicago in 1964 we follow two best friends as they navigate skipping class, quarter parties, and living for today. Both a celebration of young adulthood and a heartening tale of the friendships that inspire us, this movie is one that demands rewatches and all the praise that comes with us. Which leads us to:
How could you not think that Cooley High is one of the most influential high school films of all time?

It captured the imaginations and box office numbers of 1982 and it's the episode we've been waiting to do: E.T! Join us on a 90 minute conversation that covers how the film was made, the casting, the reception, and recalling how this visitor from outer space captured our hearts. In some ways this is the quintessential childhood adventure film, and its legacy endures on. We were both lucky enough to grow up with this movie on repeat, so the question this week is:
How could you not think E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial is Spielberg's best movie of the 80s?
It's a bold question in a decade with three entires to the Indiana Jones series and The Color Purple. But on this episode we ask, and hopefully defend our claim.
We're back! It's season 6 and we are starting out with a review of the best summer movie season of the last ten years. From Guardians to Asteroids and the blockbuster duo made in a fever dream, that's right, we are talking Barbenheimer! Join us as we catch you up on our summer, some spoiler free reviews, and the first how could you of the season:
How could you not have fun this summer movie season?!
A little bit about us:
We are two people who fell in love at a movie theater and never quite left. We started this podcast, because even as two devout movie obsessives, we had some SERIOUS gaps in our film knowledge. As time has gone on, we are still covering gaps, but now engaging in great cinematic debates, awards season prognosticating, and geeking out about our shared love of film. We always deep dive after we've seen a new movie or revisit and old favorite and we are now inviting you to sit in on the conversation.

It is every galactic geek's favorite holiday, International Star Wars Day, or as it is also know May the Fourth! We could think of only one way to celebrate: talk about a Star Wars movie that was never made.
In perhaps our most niche and nerdy episode of all time we are traveling to the Outer Rim to explore what could have been in the Skywalker Saga. Namely, we are looking at the Colin Trevorow proposed Episode Nine: Duel of the Fates. If you are a Star Wars fan you may know of the fabled sliding blast doors of Episode 9. Trevorow left the final installment of the Skywalker Saga and with it his concept art and script for what would have been a very different concluding chapter than Rise of Skywalker. Our good friend, and third mic, Anthony Desanctis came to us with a premise: what if we watch the motion comic of this film and YouTube and answer for one and for all: How could you not make the film Duel of the Fates?!
Is this the best way to celebrate May the Fourth? Will Anthony and Ryan feel more satisfied by Duel of the Fates? Will Lauren put down her light saber and concede her love of Rise of Skywalker? Listen to find out!
