How Good Is That?!

Here it is, folks. You’ve been with us for 12 episodes and now we’ve come to the end of this season. Max and Sam watched Jason kill so many people and now they will let you know which move reigns supreme in their minds. Do you agree? Disagree? Think neither of them know what they’re talking about? No, I’m not repeating myself. This week we’re talking about the Marcus Nispel remake of Friday the 13th from 2009. Full of modern-style gore and…not much else, really. If you really like watching Jason kill people in gruesome ways this film is for you. Otherwise there’s not really much here.

But most importantly we’ve got Max and Sam, finally completing the original Friday the 13th series in the most Early 2000’s way possible.

Jason in space, call that the Space Jase. Sam and Max are back for what promises to be their most ridiculous outing yet, and possibly the most ridiculous outing for the whole franchise. Jason has been cryogenically frozen into the future and is pissed.

Well, here we are, at the end. (Spoilers, no we aren’t) Jason is finally dead, been killed by someone related to him. Finally gone to Hell for the last time (again, spoilers, not really). And Freddy Krueger is in this one, too?! Join Max and Sam as they follow Jason to Hell!

New York, New York it’s a Hell of a town! This week Sam and Max (and special guest star Paul!) are really in for it. There’s so much going on in this movie, a bunch of it takes place on a boat, there’s subway third rail gags, toxic waste, and a heartwarming moment with a dog.

We’ve got a psychic girl being experimented on for her powers, we’ve got Jason yet again, and we’ve not got a lot of plot beyond that. She breaks Jason’s mask, so there’s that. She also sees people getting murder in her visions and then it comes true in real life!

We’re back to Camp…Forest Green? Well, we all know it’s still Crystal Lake underneath. The alternate title to this episode could be “Killing Horshack”, but if you’ve never seen Welcome Back, Kotter I don’t expect you to understand that one. Just sit back and let some good Jason kills wash over you.

Oh boy, this one is a doozy. To quote Max directly when he emailed me about the episode “It’s so bad…”. And it really is. We’ve got hardcore drugs, nudity and explicit sex, a fake Jason, more drugs and nudity. It’s a wild ride and Sam and Max are sitting through it, because that’s the rules of this podcast.
