My son loves Mr. Putter and Tabby. We read them over and over.

Another gem...

My 6-year-old daughter loves these books... They're so colorful and humorous... There's nothing like a child being encouraged to read because the content of the book is so entertaining! We have several in the series and are so happy that we have a collection from which she can pick and choose for any occasion. I brought this one on our last vacation (along with Mr. Putter and Tabby Walk the Dog) and it was a great addition/distraction while we were away...something fun and familiar to keep her good company... After a while, Mr. Putter, Tabby, Mrs. Teaberry and Zeke all start to feel like family :)

We love this series! I have two boys ages 5&7 and they have loved every book we have read about Mr Putter and Tabby.

Another great book from this wonderful series!

This is a wonderful series of books with great messages, writing and pictures. We've loved every one that we have read. This one makes our four-year old laugh each time we read it. He loves this story, and it is a great one for summertime.

What a shame! I am a huge fan of Mr. Putter and Tabby but this book is a real disappointment. Mr. Putter and Mrs. Teaberry lie, break the rules and have a train ride that they should not have. Very sad.

Not my favorite.

Our family enjoys Mr.Putter. This was not a favorite. Mr. Putter and his neighbor are not allowed to take their pets on the train, so they go home to make hiding places for them and then they sneak them on the train.

Its may seem over the top, but I don't like when the main character breaks the rules. I think its set a bad example.

Seriously? Mr Putter cheating the system. Skip this one.

I love the series of Mr Putter & Tabby, but this particular book was a little disturbing in the fact that the story has the characters break the rules. They are told pets are not allowed on the train, so they go home and devise a way to sneek their pets onto the train. I was surprised when I was reading this book to my 3 year old grandson. I did not really know what to say when we discussed the story. Breaking the rules is not something that I think should have turned out so wonderfully in this story.

Another great book in a great series

This was the first story that got us hooked on the Mr. Putter and Tabby books :)

We found it in hardcover at the library.

Such a fun story >:D

We especially love Zeke's traveling jacket ~ complete with doggy lollipops :)

What "I" love is that Cynthia Rylant has quite a knack for writing children's books.

Her books are so engaging.

My daughter (6) LOVES reading her books...

Not only is the story magnificent but the artwork is always so crisp, colorful and refreshing...adding so much to the story.

Highly recommend this or any of the other Mr. Putter & Tabby books in the series.

Putter Fan

My granddaughter and I like all Mr. Putter stories, and Mr Putter and Tabby Take the Train is probably our most favorite. I personally like the idea of banana crunchies, eaten in the company of dear Mrs. Teaberry, with our pets, sleeping or tossing the window shade! Excellent story and for those who disapprove of "flexing" rules--my advice, take this story as fiction at its best; kids understand we would not be able to sneak pets aboard a moving train! (most likely) but it does make for fun reading!
