In this episode, I sit down with myself on my birthday to reflect on who I used to be, who I’m becoming, and the lessons in between. Sort of a letter to the woman I was, the woman I am, and the woman I am still growing into when I think of what I needed to walk away from in order to be where I am.

Conversations with Chelsey: Wrestling, Faith, and the Hills We Stand On

In this episode, we continue the journey of Abram/Ibrahim — but now through the Qur’an’s lens. We explore Surah 6:74–83, where young Ibrahim questions the idols of his people, wrestles with the nature of God, and begins a journey of truth that goes against everything society told him.

We compare this with the Midrash and Genesis narratives, looking at what each tradition says about searching for God before he ever became a prophet, husband, or father.

Joining me is my friend Chelsey — who brings humour, honesty, and the kind of life lessons only hindsight (and a few chaotic decisions) can provide. Together we talk about:

Laugh along as we discover how, just like us, they screwed up too, but kept going.

We explore themes of trust, surrender, and the uncomfortable truth that our fears can hurt others — and distance us from God. This episode is for women rediscovering themselves and God, seeking guidance, reflection, or a fresh connection to scripture in a personal and relatable way.

Why am I recording this?

Welcome to my journey. Certainly not the beginning, nor the end.
In this introductory episode, I share why I’m discovering the Word of God (Allah - Glorified is He), faith, and inner grounding through the stories of Scripture. This podcast is a space for women rediscovering themselves and God as adults - honestly, gently, and with curiosity, audacity and laughter.

Along the way, I hope to explore the similarities in the stories of both the Bible and Qur’an, and connect it to the stories and lessons of myself and other women throughout the silly, stupid, laughable and awe-inspiring moments and relationships we have experienced as adult women. If you’re a woman seeking spiritual growth, personal healing, or a deeper connection with God, or (like me) you have never really read the Word of God, then this episode opens the door.
