A trend of blocking celebrities is going viral across social media that started as backlash against a TikTok influencer who posted a video from the Met Gala as she quoted the words “Let them eat cake.” In response, users are calling for a “Digitine,” or digital guillotine—blocking celebrities to protest them being out of touch with the plight of normal people both nationally and around the world.
