The COVID-19 pandemic launched a great experiment in the way we work, at least for office workers. Remote work became routine early in the pandemic. Two and a half years later many people are still working part-time from home.
And, with low unemployment and workers who demand flexibility, it looks increasingly likely that some combination of remote and on-site work is here to stay.
MPR News guest host Chris Farrell talks about what this dramatic change in how we work and interact with colleagues in the office means for workplace culture, employee collaboration and even office design.
Guests:
Alexandra Samuel works from her home in Vancouver, Canada as a tech writer and journalist whose work appears in the Wall Street Journal and Harvard Business Review. She is co-author of “Remote, Inc.: How To Thrive at Work….Wherever You Are” published in 2021.
Gustavo Razzetti is founder and CEO of Fearless Culture, a business management consulting company based in Chicago. He’s also the author of “Remote Not Distant: Design a Company Culture to Thrive in a Hybrid Workplace” published in June.
Mari Ansera leads interior design projects at the architectural firm HGA, based in their Minneapolis office.
