We all have addictions in our lives, some of which are common and some not so much. They can be addressed when we are ready to change and each person's recovery in unique.
For this week's episode of the Weekend Wellness Hour show, I interviewed Jesse Harless, M.A., a leader in the addiction recovery and mental health space, who shared about a recovery toolkit that he used to help him get to where he is today in life.
We touch on some of the uncommon addictions out there like addictions to pain or negative thinking. Jesse explains how this pattern of believing changes our neurochemistry to reflect negativity that then persists in all aspects of life.
We discuss some of the traditional recovery programs available and the need to find mentors to guide us along our journey. Jesse's path included a deep dive into personal development and examining beliefs from his childhood that led to substance abuse.
We explore the concept of community and how important that is for all humans, especially now in the pandemic. Jesse shares how some states, like Georgia, have built free communities for recovery from all types of addictions.
Jesse is the author of the best-selling book Smash Your Comfort Zone with Cold Showers and the creator of Entrepreneurs in Recovery® Events, which are highly experiential online and in-person events to help individuals and organizations discover their inherent ability to increase coherence, build resilience, harness strengths, amplify appreciation, and create purposeful visions. He has a new book that releases on 1/22/2021 called If Not You, Then Who?
Please join us to learn how to recover from your addictions by changing your subconscious beliefs, self talk and your community!
