There are different paths one may take when starting to learn a new language. For some, the language itself will spark some sort of curiosity in the back of their brains and they’ll simply pick up a book, or an online course and start learning. Others may need other types of stimuli to get the ball rolling (music, videos, audio, podcasts, etc.), but when it does start moving, there’s no way of stopping it.
Depending on what sparks their interest of learning Irish Gaelic, people have different approaches on moving forward with the learning process. Some will use music, others will immerse themselves in the Irish language with the help of online radio, and others will feel so encouraged that they will start something Irish related and encourage other Irish language enthusiasts to join. This is a great way to start practicing the language.
If you have already started learning the Irish language and want to take the next step, listen to this rebroadcast of the Bitesize Irish Gaelic Podcast episode 23rd where Eoin from Bitesize talks to Dineen Grow who plays such a important role in the development of the Celtic Cultural Center of Madison, Wisconsin.
Dineen tells us how she started learning Irish, what was her approach on keeping the things going, and how to reach out to others if you’re feeling lonely while learning the Irish language.
This is a re-run of the 23rd Bitesize Irish Gaelic Podcast episode, in the English language.
