How to Become a Milk Donor

In the past, a wet nurse would feed and care for another woman's child if the mother was unable to produce her own breast milk. Today, breast milk donors can contribute to a milk bank available to mothers who cannot breastfeed because of illness, medications or other reasons. Dr. Kirtly Parker Jones speaks with Melanie Walcott, the Milk Bank Coordinator for University of Utah Health, about the Mountain West Mothers' Milk Bank. Learn how donated mothers' milk is processed, and how to register to be screened as a milk donor.
