Don't Be Scammed Like Me
The other reviews for this book are quite clearly faked... I simply didn't look close enough when I first decided to download the book.
Go look at each review, and look at the books that each reviewer has reviewed, and it's quite obvious these are fakes. They are all reviewing the same batch of books.
I'll tell you the truth about this book. First, it needs a real editor. It's not "the crowd disbursed," it's "the crowd dispersed"; it's not "mother load," it's "mother lode". And all this nonsense about "blood diamonds"! No, blood diamonds are not people, they are not a gang, the term blood diamonds refers to the actual diamonds from war zones in Africa.
Worse, though, it's just a badly written book, with a weak plot. I very rarely stop reading a book once I've started, but I just can't go any further. I'm giving up.
Luckily I didn't pay for this, I got it as my monthly Kindle library book. But I'm annoyed that this publisher is scamming people ... I lost my monthly library book, and others are losing cash. If the book can't stand on it's own, it shouldn't be allowed to be pushed through faked reviews!
Jagger at the cutting edge
This book is Jagger escorting us to the cutting edge of everything that a thriller should be. He throws us into a story of an American detective in Tokyo on an unsanctioned hunt for a killer, which would be interesting enough in and of itself. Of course, "enough" is never enough for Jagger. He intertwines the detective's frantic hunt with another storyline, seemingly unrelated, involving a young Jamaican law student who is in Tokyo to recover an ancient map that has been passed down in her family for generations and was in a suitcase that was stolen last year when she was on a modeling assignment in Tokyo. She's not the only one after it, not by a long shot. The multiple story lines intertwine in that classic Jagger style, not unlike several tornados colliding. Chaos ensues. Overlay everything with lust, sex, twists and turns, and you end up with another un-put-downable book from one of the genre's masters.
