Scrabble and Love, an irresistable combination!
One of the things I love almost as much as reading is Scrabble, so seeing a book cover showing Love and Scrabble pulled me right in. I had to get this book. It took me on a wonderful journey as Miranda, a teacher who taught poetry, also developed scrabble poems that became an overnight social media craze. Miranda who never got over her best friend/boyfriends betrayal of leaving her abruptly one night and disappearing from her life for 6 years. Miranda falls fast into another romance with one of her students, Ronan who is sexy, smart and irresistible. However when Will her childhood soulmate comes back into her life one day, he is with a little daughter and Miranda is shocked and heartbroken. The rift between them deepens. She can learn nothing about Will, his past, as he refuses communicate and remains aloof. Success with her poems takes Miranda on a tailspin, but she can't shake what happens next as the mystery includes folks from the past and secrets. You will be wanting to know if there is hope for Miranda's love life and with who. This is a fascinating story, one that has you turning page after page, and also enjoying the different poignant Scrabble poems that are displayed throughout Brandi's book. I loved it!
Unique love story
This book really surprised me, in a wonderful way! I honestly didn't have any expectations for this book, but was ready for something light, some romance, some escapism....it was all of those things and yet so much more! Triple Love Score is an endearing, heartfelt story about a young woman, Miranda, who has been pining for the love of a man she hasn't heard from for six years. She has loved Scott since she was a kid, and when he shows up at her parents' house for Thanksgiving with a 6-year-old daughter, she is sure she's missed out on her chance to be with him. What follows is a compelling tale about finding true love, fighting the obstacles and challenges that stand in the way. The characters are flawed, confused, and, above all, loving...just like people we encounter in real life. The poems that Miranda writes are delightful...I loved seeing the poems, crafted from Scrabble tiles, on the pages of the book. All in all, this book was an enchanting escape, told with heart, and filled with characters that I loved.
A light, sweet, contemporary romance
TRIPLE LOVE SCORE is a light, sweet, contemporary romance by Brandi Megan Granett. The main character, Miranda, is a poetry professor contemplating the next direction she wants her life to take. She is leaning toward the devil-may-care pursuit of her own happiness (traveling, serial relationships without depth/commitment), when an old friend comes back into her life. He refreshes old hopes and injuries, and the question of whether to close the door on a future with him unsettles Miranda. Perhaps in reaction, she jumps into an ambivalent relationship with an older student that for her is largely about sex, while pursuing her questions about the old friend at family gatherings.
