A PRIZE WINNER

The Secret Life of Girls by Chloe Thurlow is a prize winner. Unfortunately it was written in the erotica genre and the author, Ms Thurlow will not be appreciated by those in the mainstream reading audience. No Pulitzer or Nobel for her, unfortunately. However, she has won my respect as a writer and storyteller.

THE SECRET LIFE explores the rough-cut fondling of teen girls in a highly restrictive environment... on through their participation in the porn of the underworld.

Isabella, the protagonist of this poignant tale, is introduced to `girl on girl' and then moves forward with her experimentation -- men, boys, three ways, sex toys, and fellatio; always "technically" maintaining her virginity. In the background Bella is manipulating those in her life to become a pop singer.

This full length erotic novel is beautifully crafted, well written, and I suspect partially lived by the author.

As an author of grounded in reality action-adventure novels, it has been rare when someone's graphic stories or photos of T&A stir my loins. Chloe Thurlow has the innate talent and ability to stir a reader into the steamy scenes she writes. WARNING! Be prepared for long `time-outs', cold showers, and prolonged sensual thoughts.

It's easy to rate this a 5 star read. I also give it 10 sheet spots!

Sound Quality Not Creamy

The overall concept of the book was unique and creative. The stories were mostly good. However, the only distraction and detraction was the terrible voice and low quality recording of the main female narrator. She sounded as if she was speaking with her mouth on a very low quality microphone. It sounded raspy in a fingernails across a chalkboard way that was decidedly not sexy at all. There was no richness or depth to her voice. It made her sound cheap and was a turn off. The man's voice was much better recorded and was textured with depth. However, paired with the shallow grating female voice, there was no audio chemistry between them. Even the accents were unmatched. I could not figure out how a man with a rich though a bit over the top heavy British accent ever connected up with what sounded like a cheap uneducated low class American female voice. Only the creative story format and stories themselves saved this poor production. Please learn something about audio production before recording again. And match the accents unless the story includes why these 2 from 2 different cultures ever hooked up.

The book was about the title. To me it was odd that she was so willing to so stupidly put an add in the paper for something so bizarre and then for her to have her still be turned by all this. This book just seemed like it was missing something to make it go together easier, can't put my finger on it. While on one hand she asked for it, I don't care to read about someone being used and I really have a hard time believing that this would be a turn on. Just a little tooooo unbelievable for me.

I have followed this series since the first audiobook, and enjoyed inmensely every story.

But I can't get used to the new narrator. Miss Stanford, the previous narrator for the series, read with emotion and enthusiasm. Mr Davis reading in comparison seems flat and unenjoying.
