Unflipping believable

First, while I love Jake Biondi's work, I hate him too. I thought that the first episodes were convoluted but this one is far beyond that. I actually thought about diagramming the relationships since they keep changing. On Thanksgiving Emmett and Keith get engaged....a little over a month later one is engaged to someone else and the other is in a new relationship. Derek still is 1) in love and cheating on his wife 2) in love with and cheating with Cole. David was trying for Michael but has moved on to try for Cole. Justin is in trouble and sleeping with Rachel and Gino. Gino's twin is helping his father destroy the Mancini's which is Derek, Emmett, and Justin. Rachel is backstabbing everyone. I don't trust several of these people...Jesse is a hot headed kid. Tyler is going after Joyelle and doing illegal medical tests for Ben. David seems to be a bit shady. In the space of a few weeks all manner of events, betrayal, and underhanded actions are taking place. Do these people ever have a quiet, dull day? And of course this ends with sex and betrayal in one room, a party in another, and an explosion. Of course I'm starting the third book but I need a break first. Who knew that Chicago could be so exciting!!

Jake Biondi Boystown Series 2 yep hooked!!!

A handful of authors write in a style that creates the images, evokes the emotion and lets the reader connect with the characters in a way that your heart, soul and body are affected. Jake Biondi in his Boystown series is a master at controlling just that. His writing style is unprecedented. It is as if you are a voyeur on the lives of the amazing characters he has created. You feel their love, pain and yes even their sexual experiences as if you were in the role yourself. It is as if you are watching a movie and you are part of it. You become family to the Mancini and Ciancio family and their friends. The stories are fast paced and keep you turning pages well into bedtime. The sexual descriptions are so real and written so explicitly that you find yourself trying to juggle the kindle and something else.

Take the time to listen....so worth it!

You definitely need to pay attention to keep up with the three story lines. By chapter 8...I was sorta lost so started at the beginning and listening only when I was able to concentrate....like doing dishes, making Beds, blow drying my hair or at work editing photos. I loved the narrator.

Convoluted Story, Good Narrator

This story jumped around from one time period to another. It was hard to place the characters for several chapters. I'm thinking that it might be better to read this book, rather than listen to it. The narrator was the only reason I finished the book, as none of the characters were very interesting or sympathetic.

Very engaging story and characters; not hard to follow. Love how the fairy tale was woven in. Suspenseful and kept me interested to the end. Excellent narration. Can't wait for the next book!

I have not, but her performance was fine. I would definitely listen to other reads of hers.

Having Graham Norton read his own work made this special. He has a wonderful voice for narration.

His Irish accent - it made the characters really come alive.

Very enjoyable murder mystery. Characters you can judge and cheer for at the same time. I am definitely buying his next book!

Loved It!

I listened to Graham Norton tell his story Holding while lying in a hospital bed for two days. Graham helped me escape the tests, the IVs, the shouting roommate, and all of the other miserable things one experiences while in the sickbed. I think Graham helped me laugh myself better. Thank you, Mr. Norton.

Well, I have always watched Graham's shows thinking that that was all there was to the man. Well well...this was a welcome surprise. His writing and narration are both brilliant. Love the quaint story of village life and the drama that accumulates. As someone who came from a small town in South Africa, the stories are always more intricate than one could imagine. In big cities, it's almost as if the focus and resolution of life's drama is lost in the melee.

Thanks for the entertaining listen. Hope you have more in you.

Exciting, and empowering read!

I was on the edge of my beach chair the entire time! Couldn't wait to see what Crystal's fate would be..rescheduled lunch plans to finish! Thoroughly enjoyed the authors construction of the story and how you really felt the emotional highs and lows along with the main character, Crystal! Super authentic, and raw expression of events all too familiar to anyone who has loved another. Perfectly balanced with moments of bursting laughter, and moments where you want to give the character a big hug-or maybe invite her to cry with you over a glass of Jordan. Full of lovable characters, and great life lessons! Really enjoyed thank you!

Fascinating read

It was a gripping and fascinating page turner. The story pulls you in and keeps you flipping from page to page. I haven't read a novel in two days for a long time.

The woman spends the book making terrible choices that she has control over - justifies her mistakes so that she is never wrong....has an epiphany that maybe she IS doing something wrong....then sums up at the end with the same diluted justifications that she had been using throughout.

If you have been through a dirty breakup that isn't your fault, or you're drunk and hating yourself, I highly recommend this book.

Did not really have an ending! Just started out dreary and then stopped before any subplots reached conclusions. Rather frustrating.

Absolutely intriguing

This book is an amazing treasury of the nerves feelings and trepidation that we all feel about governance in intrusive countries. I cannot believe that the author was able to touch this nerve exactly. Very thoughtful and an excellent read. Thanks for writing this. I will recommend this book for my children.
