    JUST BRILLIANT
Read the book a few years ago and the audio version is even better. The narration is excellent , just how I would imagine Richard [the teller of the story] would speak. All the accents of the various characters are so well done.
    Twisting and turning adrenaline
The story from the point of view of Richard is do thought provoking and dangerous that you will lose yourself in this book
    The film made me hesitate...
but I needn't have. There's enough variation on the movie to maintain a feeling of discovery and surprise. Plus the narration is first class.
    Excellent narration
Great book obviously but the narration is really first rate. He really brings you into the story and onto the beach..
20 years waiting for this audiobook!
    Any additional comments?
20 years waiting for this audiobook! I cant believe it was 20 years ago this came out, it was all the talk of my pals and I one summer when we were all 16. I read the book about 3 times and loved it every time.
The Audio edition is great but only slightly let down by the narrators poor Scottish accent when doing the Daffy Character. I am Scottish and when the accent is butchered I find it irritating. Other than that he did a pretty solid job.

    solid book.
it was a solid book. great twist and turns to the story. the narrator did okay, but not on a level of Cary Hite, Nicole Small, or Snoozi.
    Kept you interested
I loved it, the book for sure keeps you interested at the same time pisses you off because things don't go as expected or desired. It left me at the end of my seat and I was mad that it ended. I wanted more and can't wait for the next book. it left me hanging so there has to be more.
This was a really good book. Waiting on Book 2!!
I really enjoyed this book. I read the reviews in this one & decided to take. chance on it & I wasn't disappointed. I thought this one was gonna be boring but boy was I surprised. Deception never truly comes from your enemy's. Its always a family member or friend. Looking forward to book 2!

    Title: Things I Can't Explain
    Subtitle: A Clarissa Novel
    Author: Mitchell Kriegman
    Narrator: Emily Madar
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 6 hrs and 3 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 03-15-16
    Publisher: Audible Studios
Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 16 votes
    Genres: Fiction, Contemporary
    Publisher's Summary:
A complete reimagining of the 1990s television hit Clarissa Explains It All as 20-something Clarissa tries to navigate the unemployment line, mompreneurs, and the collision of two people in love.
She was a smart, snappy, lighthearted girl who knew it all at 14 and let television audiences everywhere know it. Now a woman in her late 20s, her searching blue eyes are more serious but mostly amused by the people around her. The gap-toothed smile that made her seem younger than she really was is gone, but she still lightens up the room. Her unpredictable wardrobe rocks just like when she was a kid, but her fashion sense has evolved, and it makes men and women turn their heads.
After leaving high school early, Clarissa interned at the Daily Post while attending night school. At the ripe old age of 22 she had it made - her own journalism beat (fashion, gender politics, and crime), an affordable apartment in FiDi, and a livable wage. She was so totally ahead of the game. Ah, those were the days! All three of them. Remember the stock market crash of '08? Remember when people actually bought newspapers?
All of Clarissa's charming obsessions, charts, graphs, and superstitions have survived into adulthood, but they've evolved into an ever-greater need to claw the world back under control. Her mid-20s crisis has left her with a whole set of things she can't explain: an ex-boyfriend turned stalker, her parents' divorce, a micro relationship with the cute coffee guy, java addiction, "To-Flue Glue", and then there's Sam. Where's Sam anyway?
Things I Can't Explain is about knowing it all in your teens and then feeling like you know nothing in your 20s. It is an entertaining and must-listen sequel for all fans of Mitchell Kriegman's Nickelodeon TV show Clarissa Explains It All.
    Members Reviews:
A great take on a classic show.
Would you consider the audio edition of Things I Can't Explain to be better than the print version?
I would, due to the narration.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Clarissa herself, being the main character.
What about Emily Madars performance did you like?
She's great with accents, among other things.
If you could rename Things I Can't Explain, what would you call it?
Afraid I can't think of an alternate title.
    Any additional comments?
A must-have for fans of Clarissa Explains It All.
    Disappointed
I was excited to download this since it was a spiritual successor to one of my favorite shows growing up. The story was rushed at times (especially the end), the narration was not edited well (at one point she asked to start over so she could clear her throat), and it was just a let down all around. I didn't like the way the author made Clarissa out to be some wilting flower. I grew up with her being a strong girl. Not some sad woman hiding out in her apartment pining over a boy. If there's a sequel, I'm hoping they make her a little stronger.
Too great expectations don't end well:)
May be, you childhood heroes shouldn't ever grow up:) It's hard to see them cursing and having sexlife.
The ending is too crumpled and abridged.
But in general - not bad at all! Feels like it was another few episodes of Clarissa's life and there will be more. .. (I hope so! :)
Thank you so much, Mr. Kriegman! It was really nice to meet this crazy girl again.

Best of the Series - Yet!
Would you listen to Point Blank again? Why?
The story was about one of their own, which made it one of our own. I'm so glad that there was not a lot of kid drama involved.
Beyond that - the story was great, all the characters in character - Catherine and Bert...oh, woos is she but she endures. One tough cookie, our Catherine.
Love them all, but this was a favorite. Touched the heart, just a little deeper.

Living on her familys gorgeous lakeside estate in Cornwall, England, Alice Edevane is a bright, clever, inquisitive, innocent, and precociously talented 14 year old who loves to write stories. But the mysteries she pens are no match for the one her family is about to endure....
One midsummers eve, after a beautiful party drawing hundreds of guests to the estate has ended, the Edevanes discover that their youngest son, Theo, has vanished without a trace. What follows is a tragedy that tears the family apart in ways they never imagined, leaving their estate as empty as their broken hearts.
Nearly 60 years later, having enjoyed a long, successful career as an author, Alice is now 80 years old and living in London. Theos case has never been solved, though Alice still harbours a suspicion as to the culprit.
Miles away, Sadie Sparrow, a young detective in the London police force, is staying at her grandfathers house in Cornwall. While out walking one day, she stumbles upon the old estate - now crumbling and covered with vines, clearly abandoned long ago. Her curiosity is sparked, setting off a series of events that will bring her and Alice together and reveal shocking truths about a past long gone... yet more present than ever.
A lush, atmospheric tale of intertwined destinies, this latest novel from a masterful storyteller is spellbinding and satisfying.

    Members Reviews:
    Loved it
Although the ending is a little too tidy, the journey there was very pleasant, the characters fully drawn and the setting magical.
    Spellbinding!
The spine-tingling tale keeps the reader mesmerised from start to finish! The overall reading is excellent, but I was a little disappointed at her failure to mimic the different people's voices. Sometimes I found it difficult to know who was supposed to be speaking.
I would recommend Kate Morton's book to anyone who enjoys a good mystery!
Great story but would love a better narrator
I love Kate Morton's stories and I'm so disappointed they're stuck with a poor narrator. The Australian creeping into the poor attempt at an accent is just too irritating (especially as an Aussie!). I wish they'd choose an English narrator so I could fully enjoy the beautiful writing.
    Slow
What did you like best about The Lake House? What did you like least?
Narrator was painful. With bad accents and a south african/australlian accent coming through. Bad essex accent. All over acted so very annoying. Story was slow and laborious and spun out, not sure why so many good reviews. Lots of cliches. Would not read another one of her books.
Would you be willing to try another book from Kate Morton? Why or why not?
    No
What aspect of Caroline Lees performance might you have changed?
Poor and annoying. Would not listen to another one.
Could you see The Lake House being made into a movie or a TV series? Who would the stars be?
Yes could be. Would be better with better accent - actors and much faster.
The narration is a mess (namely the accents)
...which was very distracting. Each character spoke in at least 4 accents, and bad ones.
