old grandson (and I) love the Zombie Goldfish books and have been reading them

My 9-yr. old grandson (and I) love the Zombie Goldfish books and have been reading them, as they are published for about two years. They are great fun and tell a great story. Very entertaining for boys, girls and the folks who are reading to them.

My son loves these books!

My son absolutely loves these books. I have bought him the entire set that is out so far and he is anxiously awaiting the next one. I am not sure what the appeal is but I know that they have both stories and other games and things for him to play in each book. They are written at approximately a 3rd grade reading level.

Laughter encourages reading

I read this book to my son, who at the time didn't enjoy reading very much. This book is funny and showed him a new way that reading could be enjoyable. We love the characters, and Frankie is the best. The flip art on the corners is an added bonus. We look forward to reading the further adventures of Frankie, the zombie goldfish and his humans.

With no wolf parents to help, zookeepers and vets at the Alaska Zoo made sure the babies grew into a healthy, happy pack.

Learn about keystone species, protection, rescue

A sweet story of a pack of wolf pups who were seemingly abandoned and trapped in a wildfire. Rescued by firefighters, the pups were then taken to a place where they could be adequately cared for by professionals.

While these pups were not returned to the wild once they reached an age where they could presumably care for themselves, they were kept and cared for in a zoo focused on a healthy existence for them.

The book presents how important it is for species such as wolves not be allowed to be removed from the wild existence. They are considered a keystone specices upon which the eco-balance of animal, plant, land, and water exist.

The story is multi-leveled in that the reader can learn about wolves, about the eco system, about rescuing endangered wildlife, and about the proper care of wild animals. It is suitable for kindergarten and older based on the way the material in the book is presented to the child and utilized by the parent, child, or educator.

The back of the book has an abundance of information that will enhance the reader's understanding and comprehension of the subject. As this book is read, interest in further material on the subject by the child should be encouraged. Online Arbordale.com has proved a valuable asset in multi-disciplined worksheets to use utilizing this book and others which Arbordale has published.

DISCLOSURE: I received a complimentary copy from the publisher to facilitate this review. Opinions are my own. I was not compensated.

Baby wolves will delight young readers....

This inexpensive paperback will come in handy for any parent or teacher who wants to provide reading material for a youngster/student who is interested in wolves or wildlife themes. The color photos used to illustrate the book are excellent and the text is appropriate for a younger child (four to six years old). The content is not greatly detailed but use the book to get the child interested and then turn to a book with more information for further study.

A little bit silly

As a devoted Sanderson fan I feel a little odd declaring "jury is out" on this one.

I think there are a couple of preceding books, but they're not on audible, so I've not read/listened to them. (and the first 10 minutes of this book lambasts the listener if they've not previously read/listened to these first books - so I actually stopped listening, went in search of the first two books, couldn't find them, so took a punt and listened anyway)

This book still has Sanderson's clever story telling, and unique other world with a clever magic powers system..............however it has a bit of a farcical feel to it. I'm sure this is absolutely intentional, and properly focussed on the younger reader, but I'm not sure if it was right for me personally given my more "mature" listener status. Having said that, my 10 year old can't put it down (she had a few late nights courtesy of listening beyond lights out). She also declared "it's a little bit silly" when she was about 10 minutes into listening -but clarified further as "good silly".

The narration is perfectly suited to the tone of the book (similar to the Reckoners series).

I'm not sure I'll be downloading any more in this series, but my daughter probably will.

(I probably should point out that I didn't do any research on this book before downloading it- I was just working my way through any Sanderson books I'd not listened to - perhaps if I'd read the blurb and other reviews I might have known what I was getting myself into)
