I loved hearing the whole story of Barry's adventure
I loved hearing the whole story of Barry's adventure. I had heard portions of this story many years ago and now it is all put together in a continuous tail. It inspires adventure. I hope he also writes about his walk.

Ever wonder how much challenge you could stand under trying circumstances?
The challenges which Barry lived through made me consider that question, however I doubt I would have been up to all he faced. This book created an intriguing look at places few will ever go, but can vicariously experience through Barry's eyes. An excellent read!
True adventure story with enduring application
This is one of those captivating real-life stories where you can't wait to find out what happens next - excellent story telling blended with life-perspectives that can only come from living life in the years since the original adventure (the book was written several years after the events took place). There were several "episodes" that have stuck with me as encouragement and insight for my own life.
An Incredible Read!
This book has kept me up nights and shocked me again and again with its first-hand encounters of the North American wilderness. I had to keep reminding myself that I know the author survives in the end...so many of the stories were just incredible! The images in the book were fascinating as well (you can see them at the books website [...] I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good dose of real-life adventure!
Excellent
I enjoyed reading every step of Barry's adventure. I found myself caught up, always wondering what was around the next corner; at times I had to remind myself that he lives to make it to the end! This book is incredibly well-written, easy to read, and enthralling. I recommend it to anyone who likes adventure, overcoming challenges, and just a good story!
