Title: Your First Step in Heaven
Subtitle: What Happens Immediately after Death
    Author: Wallace Henley
    Narrator: Sam Graves
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 4 hrs and 45 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 08-21-14
Publisher: Revival Waves of Glory Books & Publishing
Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 5 votes
    Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Christianity
    Publisher's Summary:
What happens to us when the line goes flat? Cardiologists can tell us what happens to the heart at death. Neurologists have extensive knowledge about what occurs in the brain and central nervous system at the moment we die. But what happens to our consciousness? There is much evidence that awareness continues.
The Bible tells us exactly what happens when we die. As you listen to this audiobook, you will discover the amazing equipoise of death - the delicate equilibrium between the "not yet" and "now" of the new body and the new spirit-soul. For the person in Christ, death is not a passage into gloom and uncertainty, but is like arriving at the crest of a great mountain after a long climb through whirling storms and tearing winds, and basking in the brilliant radiance at the top. The mere existence of bios-life locked inside a deteriorating, decaying body is released into the purity of being which is the Zoe-Life Adam and Eve knew before the fall into sin and death, and won back for us by Jesus' sacrifice of Himself on the cross and His amazing resurrection.
If you are fearful of death, or still feeling sting of bereavement, or desiring to give comfort and hope to others who have experienced loss, this book will be a source of assurance, comfort, hope, and peace as in minute after minute, it brings together the profound truths of Scripture and takes you on an exhilarating exploration of their rich detail.
Are we disembodied spirits floating in heavenly space, or do we receive the new body immediately upon dying? How does the human psyche function in Heaven? What is the nature of our new minds, souls, and wills in Heaven? Whom will we see and know on our first step in Heaven? What about those we don't see? Will we grieve for them? And if so, how can Heaven be a place of no tears and weeping? Just how "special" is the place "prepared for you"?

The BEST book on heaven I've found!
This is one remarkable book. In my 54 years in ministry I have never read a book that ministers more to someone who has lost a loved one. I realized upon reading it that I just thought I knew what heaven was about. If you have lost a loved one, have been concerned about the afterlife, or want to bless someone who has lost a loved one, this enlightening book is for you. It's riveting.
New Christians Stay Away From This Book!
I received an email advertising this book, and even though I have never heard of Wallace Henley, I thought, âItâs only $3.00, Iâll take the chance.â Boy, am I glad it was only $3.00 because it wasn't even worth that much. I donât know from where Mr. Henley got his theological training (if he has one), but I wonder if the school would approve of some of his conclusions he puts forth?
Firstly, this book could have easily been condensed down to a 20-page pamphlet and still have said what he wanted to say about âYour first Step in Heavenâ. There is so much peripheral material included that I had to continually remind myself of the title of the book.
Secondly, contrary to what the Bible teaches, Mr. Henley believes that dead people continually visit the earth and make their presence known to the living! (Where is M.

    Release date: 06-30-14
    Publisher: St Pauls
Ratings: 3.5 of 5 out of 8 votes
    Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Christianity
    Publisher's Summary:
Timothy Carmody takes us on an in-depth journey into the world of the Gospel of St. Mark. His unique approach in utilizing both narrative and literary criticism, while stressing the need for a critical historical perspective, enables the listener to get to the very heart of how the Gospel of Mark works in conveying his message and answering the question "What is actually going on in the text?"
The vast majority of biblical scholars consider Mark the earliest and oldest of the Synoptic Gospels written. Carmody exposes the genius and mastermind of St. Mark's gift as a sacred author. He gets to the heart of St. Mark's intent and explains just what is going on in his gospel. Carmody makes it possible for his listeners to enjoy the perfect opportunity to delve deeper into the multi-faceted components of the gospel itself, while investigating the primary motif of Jesus' "Messianic Secret", in which he commanded his followers to silence about his messianic mission. The theme of the "Failure of Discipleship", where his disciples over and over again fail to comprehend the teachings of their master, is also a major component of Carmody's presentation. This powerful, yet down-to-earth approach certainly leaves the listener with a wealth of information on St. Mark's Gospel, along with the sacred author's pure intention to announce the life and teachings of Jesus Christ from the beginning of his public ministry. This audio will appeal to all who are interested in biblical studies, from the beginner to the most learned.

    Publisher: christianaudio.com

    Publisher's Summary:
Many of us recognize the declining influence of the church today. And while we may be interested in doing something to reverse the trend, few of us realize we are part of the problem - especially when we engage the culture in ways that prevent the joy of God from being seen. Greg Forster comes to our aid by first laying out the historical factors that have contributed to the churchs loss of influence in our society today.
He then explores the significance of foundational practices such as preaching, worship, and discipleship - showing how the Holy Spirit uses them to produce joy in us that changes our churches, families, offices, and communities. With contagious passion, Forster helps us understand the impact of Spirit-produced transformation, and encourages us to embrace Gods missional call to joyfully reach out to the world as the bride of Christ.

    An Absolutely Must Read!!!
This fabulous book is the clearest, most persuasive analysis of the topic (Christian faith and responsibility in each generation) that I have ever encountered. Before I even finished my first reading, I ordered copies for family members and friends who I knew would love it as much as I did (and continue to do). I cannot praise Forester enough. He doesn't harangue, preach, or scold. Rather, he provides an historically accurate account of the most important founding principle for a free society (what the Founders got very right), why church programs and efforts to "do good" have often done more harm than good in attracting people to the gospel, and how people of genuine faith can, if they are willing, actually live in our culture the way Jesus would if he were living in our skin. Readers who are familiar with and appreciate the works of Dallas Willard and/or the UK's John C. Lennox will love Greg Forester. I urge readers of this review to click on the "buy" button immediately! You will not regret it. This is a book you want in your personal library if you are concerned about your kids' and grandkids' future and about the survival of freedom and a healthy democracy, and of course, about your own spiritual growth.
Solid, clear Biblical thinking on topics ranging from sex, to economics to work!
Excellent book! This is one of the most helpful I've read on the topic of church based social and cultural impact. I appreciate Greg's comprehensive understanding of missions and discipleship. You can see the influence of Abraham Kuyper, Dallas Willard, NT Wright, and Tim Keller. I particularly appreciate the sections on sexuality, economics and workâ areas where Greg drills down and constructs a solid biblical theology for each topic. He challenges us to think deeply and critically and to abandon ways that our thinking and practice has been shaped by prevailing culture, while embracing, embodying and promoting the truth in these areas within the larger culture. Highly recommended!

Skip is truly anoited in balancing bible truths with everyday life. Even the best of us fall. But like David it's about how you get back up and not look back, unless it's to remember the lesson. That no matter what if you have a heart for God He will be there for you. Even in the aftermath of consequences He will guide you though it. Thank you Jesus for your plan of salvation through sanctification.
