having a goal in mind, showing up consistently and giving it your best effort and holding belief that you will at some point get your goal is all you need.
you will take a LOT of steps along the way to your goal. you might not see great results on every one of those. in fact, sometimes you will have setbacks, or obstacles. but if you keep going, keep showing up, keep believing, you will sustainably get to your goals. and you'll probably do it a lot faster than if you are expecting results every step of the way.
