Here are the main verses in Proverbs dealing with anger:

1. 12:16 A fool's wrath is presently known; but a prudent man coverth shame
2. 14:29 He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly

1. Younger Children
   1. Never ignore anger
   2. Rebuke it
   3. Correct it (determine beforehand)
   4. Teach them how to respond appropriately
2. Older Children
   1. Model correct responses
      1. Strive to live gently
      2. Admit when wrong and ask forgiveness
      3. Take steps to correct yourself
   2. Teach correct responses
      1. Stop and correct every angry response
      2. Teach your children the proper response
      3. Do it every time!
3. We must separate from anger: handle specific areas in specific ways
   1. On a team or in a sport
      1. Be drastic here
         1. Pull them out
         2. Remove them from the team
         3. Remove their privileges
      2. With a coach
         1. An angry coach is a bad influence in your child's life
         2. An angry coach is a lousy role model

      3. In a relationship
         1. Anger will destroy relationships
         2. Anger is a deal breaker
            1. In friendship
            2. In courtship and dating
            3. Never date a person who gets angry - and certainly don't marry them
            4. Anger that shows up in dating will only compound in marriage
      4. We must learn to handle intense matters properly:
         1. Learn to speak softly

            2. Speak in a lower voice
         2. Leave an angry situation
