This special edition of Branding Matters is dedicated to my beloved mother - Sylvia Goodson.

Sylvia died suddenly on December 17, 2023, and losing her brought me to my knees in a way I still struggle to put into words.

To honour her, I’m resharing one of the most vulnerable podcast episodes I’ve ever recorded - it’s the eulogy I gave at her funeral. In it, I talk about who she really was, what she stood for, and how she showed up in the world, in all her raw, imperfect, beautiful realness.

They say your brand is your reputation “it’s what people say about you when you’re not in the room”. A eulogy, in many ways, is your ultimate brand story: the truest reflection of how you lived, loved, and impacted the people around you.

This episode is open, it’s honest, it’s emotional - and if Sylvia was anything, she was real. At the end, there’s a very special message I hope you can take something from and maybe even live by.🫶🏻
