Jennifer Patenaude has battled scalp psoriasis since childhood and was diagnosed with Sjogren's Syndrome shortly after the birth of her second child. She vividly recalls the wave of self-pity that washed over her the day her rheumatologist prescribed medication to be taken three times a day for the rest of her life.
Despite her initial feelings, Jennifer found her symptoms manageable enough that she avoided drastic dietary or lifestyle changes. Why give up certain pleasures and habits when a pill seemed sufficient? Unbeknownst to her, the root cause of her autoimmunity was silently festering, preparing to wreak havoc.
By the summer of 2020, Jennifer's health took a sharp turn. A painful infection under her cuticle required two courses of antibiotics. This was followed by severe irritation in her armpits that left her unable to wear even organic, toxin-free deodorant. An angry red rash spread across her forehead, eventually engulfing her ears and eyes. To make matters worse, a yeast infection emerged.
Jennifer discovered that her gut was so "leaky" it had primed her body for an inflammatory explosion—the finger infection simply ignited the fire.
Since then, Jennifer has come full circle. She has wholeheartedly embraced the dietary and lifestyle changes she once dismissed. All her acute inflammation has subsided, and she is now actively healing her gut with the goal of reversing her autoimmune symptoms.
Now, Jennifer is passionate about helping others:
Feel empowered to take back their health
Regain the energy and vibrancy they once enjoyed
Cut through the overwhelm to make meaningful, lasting changes
