RNIB Conversations

How Volunteering Turned One Blind Woman’s Life Around

Listen Later

Sarah Matthews lost her sight due to a head injury six years ago, but since then she worked hard to put her life back on track.

Now Sarah keeps busy and amongst many things, loves to volunteer. One of the organisations Sarah volunteers with is Listening Books, an audiobook library for anyone who finds reading difficult due to a physical or mental illness, disability or learning difficulty.

We spoke to Sarah about her life, her love of reading, and volunteering.

Sarah spoke with RNIB Connect Radio’s Simon Pauley.
