In this episode, I talk about something I am doing that is brand new called Owner Shift Coaching. With this coaching program, I help you imagine the future you want and then make it happen.
I decided to become a coach because I see too many entrepreneurs and leaders playing a game that's smaller than the game I think they are built to play. And if you've read my book, you already know that my goal is to help entrepreneurs think big -- bigger than they would ordinarily think on their own.
And after having written the book "Owner Shift -- How Getting Selfish Got Me Unstuck" and having had many, many discussions with people who read the book, I kept getting feedback that what was in the book was valuable and should be taught. It became clear to me that there is a need for the value I can bring to entrepreneurs and leaders everywhere. What is different about me is that I don't do this coaching to make a living -- I do it to make a difference.
I go into detail about my criteria for determining entrepreneurs and CEOs I would like to coach.
I'm excited to get this information out there. Until next time, Maximize Your Greatness!

In this episode, I share a story with my audience about character -- such a heavy word. Is good character something you are born with, or something that evolves over time, or maybe it's something that can be alternating as you go through life?
I go through the 6 elements of what I've come to call character, and then I'm going to ask you to rate yourself on each on a 1-5 scale.
I think this is a really neat exercise on character, and I hope you'll listen.

In this episode, I talk about the Power of Asking. A.S.K. Too often we assume that what we think is what other people think, and we just move ahead with something because it's going to work for us. But not everyone is us, and not everyone thinks like us, and not everyone wants what we want. But there's an easy way to get around that, and I go into it in this episode.

In this episode, I take you through the things that get in the way of achieving, maximizing, and activating the greatness inside of you. I'm only going to talk about five -- I call them the 4 Fallacies that Trap Leaders & Kill Futures. Those 5 fallacies are (1) I'm a decision machine, (2) I need to be selfless, (3) I'm on my own, (4) I'm responsible, and (5) I know the truth. Believing in those 5 fallacies put me in a place that I've come to call the Valley of Uncertainty; it's a place where entrepreneurs and leaders of all kinds go or fall into or get trapped; they zap energy and they zap competence and they zap thinking about the future.
I discuss each fallacy in this episode and what I did to recognize them and then overcome them. I hope this episode inspires, activates, and maximizes your willingness and your ability to start telling the story you want to tell, the one that will make your future your property.

Sam Schmidt is the Co-Owner of Arrow McLaren SP, an Indycar racing team comprised of two determined racing entities, McLaren Racing and Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports. That ambition is shared and supported by title partner Arrow Electronics. Sam grew up working on race cars and in 1997 embarked on his racing career as an Indycar driver. Two years later he took his first win in Las Vegas, and finished 5th in the 1999 championship.
In January of the following year, during off-season testing at Walt Disney World Speedway in Orlando, Sam suffered a massive crash. After being airlifted to a nearby hospital he was later diagnosed as a quadriplegic due to a severe injury on the C-3 and C-4 levels of his spinal cord. Despite no longer being able to race himself, Sam showed immense courage as within 14 months of the accident he had created the Conquer Paralysis Now Foundation as well as Sam Schmidt Motorsports, now Arrow McLaren SP.
Mike and Sam cover a ton of great stuff in this episode like how his father inspired his incredible work ethic, the life-changing crash and self-described “hell on earth” experience of being on a ventilator and his transition off of it, his no-excuses approach to being a quadriplegic and his high expectations for people with spinal cords injuries, how Arrow Electronics team of engineers created a control system in his car so he could drive a car around Indianapolis Speedway at 150 mph, racing his Arrow Electronics C7 Corvette up legendary and dangerous Pikes Peak, his plans for voice activation controls in his new Arrow Electronics SAM C8 Corvette, how he believes that type of control system and technology can be embedded industrial applications to help disabled people get back to work, and how the Conquer Paralysis Now Foundation is changing outcomes of people with spinal cord injuries, and much more.

In this episode, I talk about the power of Asking. Too often we assume we know that our expectations are the same as other people's expectations. But not everyone is us. Not everyone thinks like us. You might avoid a dramatic Pivot if you do one thing: A.S.K. If they tell you what they want, then you are way far ahead of the game when it comes to delivering what they want. Not just in business, but in your personal life as well, your family life. If might require a Shift, but it likely won't require a complete Pivot!
