Faced with unimaginable odds, she met that moment with extraordinary courage. In 2012, she made medical history as the first woman in the world cured of Sickle Cell Disease through the Stride-HCT Bone Marrow Transplant clinical trial.

But her story didn’t stop there. Instead of quietly returning to life, she chose purpose. Stepping forward to share her journey, advocate for awareness, and inspire others to heal, fight, and believe again.

Today, she continues to shine as an actress, professional model, motivational speaker, and powerhouse entrepreneur. She is living proof that purpose is always stronger than adversity.

A proud first-generation scholar, Dr. Swink earned both her PhD and master’s in industrial and organizational psychology from Keiser University, and holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership with Distinction from the University of Oklahoma. In 2025, she was inducted into the Keiser University Wall of Fame.

Throughout her career, she has owned and led multiple businesses, increasing enrollment by 35%, boosting revenue by over 65%, and successfully managing multi-million-dollar projects. She is deeply committed to community service and student advocacy, leading initiatives focused on mental health, mentorship, and student-first engagement.

An ordained minister and active member of professional and service organizations, Dr. Swink is passionate about mentoring, leadership, and giving back. Outside of work, she enjoys riding her Harley-Davidson, gardening, and spending quality time with family—especially caring for her 96-year-old grandmother.

Tanisha made history by becoming the first contestant to win both the Teen and Miss Petite Universe International titles. Her advocacy focuses on mental health, kindness, environmental protection, and breaking gender stereotypes—empowering young girls to believe in their potential both on and off the stage.
