At the time of this recording, I had recently found out that one of my old friends had passed away. For the most part, we had lost touch with each other besides the occasional “Happy birthday” or quick, “How is life?” message sent here and there.
Seeing that he wasn’t here anymore just shocked me. We are in our early thirties. It’s too soon for this...
I stayed up thinking about old memories and how fragile life was. You know it’s sad that something like this has to happen for us to stop and really think about how much people mean to us.
I shared a memory with my husband that night. The thing that stood out most to me about Chris was that he always just let me be myself. I’ve always been a strange girl, not fitting into most crowds. I'm super quirky, ambitious, and passionate. Especially in my early 20s I was hyper-aware of how different I was and it made me VERY insecure.
Chris would always say to me “Sis, just do you, it doesn't matter. Be Heather”.
I told my husband how much that meant to me because there are not a lot of people in life where you can FULLY be yourself and feel completely free around. Chris was that kind of friend.
I don’t think I ever thanked him for that. It made me think about all the other friends I have in my life that I haven’t taken the time to reach out, thank, and make more of an effort to be in their lives.
Over the weekend I talked with friends, family, and even complete strangers and asked them, a question, what is something that a friend has done or said that has greatly impacted you? Maybe something that you may have taken for granted?
This is what they said...

Have you ever wanted to create change but never knew where to start? Maybe you have gifts, talents, and a vision, but you don’t know how to make a large impact. If you know your calling but haven’t yet figured out how to get there, this episode is for you.
Sometimes, the greatest impact happens when we start out small. This is exactly what our guest this week, Chris Marlow, realized when starting the non-profit, Help One Now. Chris knew that if he was going to help reach orphaned children globally, he had to start with the 32 orphaned children he met on a mission trip in Zimbabwe. By using his gifts, resources, and community of friends and family, Chis Marlow’s organization now helps over 50,000 a day.

A question that gets brought up time and time again is “How do I grow my audience?”
If you are building ANYTHING you have probably felt frustrated because you put a lot of time and energy into creating something (your business, your content, a message, etc) and you quickly realize that just because you “build it” does not mean they will come.
I interviewed 12 people recently who have built audiences and created tribes in their realm of influence.
I asked them exactly how they did it.
I share with you a highlight of their answers but for the full interviews you can check out BuildAnAudience.org for FULL access (it's free y'all)

Have you ever wondered how your overall food health contributes to the way you feel at work? If you feel sluggish after eating a heavy meal, your body might be trying to tell you something.
Understanding where our food comes from and how it is produced is a key factor for the health of our population. Sometimes, dietary restrictions inhibit us from eating on-the-go. Our guest this week, Joni Kindwall-Moore, is passionate about creating a healthier, cultural norm regarding the food we eat. From her medical background being an RN, to her scientific research on dietary health, Joni is able to provide us with different ways we can improve our dietary habits.

You are a writer. You are a singer. You have an idea for a business. You have a skill or a talent- something that you really want to use, develop, and ultimately impact the world with.
But guess what? You aren’t successful with it (yet). Maybe you are not using it at all. Maybe you write sometimes, maybe you sing sometimes, but you are not consistent in showing up and doing your “thing”. This week I talk to you about holding on to your vision, treating it like a something that has already happened, and not giving up when everyone else throws in the towel.
