    Chris Hedges, the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, and former Middle East Bureau Chief for The New York Times, will speak at the Media Sanctuary on Wednesday Dec. 6 at 7 PM about “The Genocide in Gaza.” You can register for the event at mediasanctuary.org. Chris recently wrote: "The skies over Gaza are filled — after a seven-day truce — with projectiles of death. Gaza is a cacophony of explosions and forlorn screams and cries for help beneath collapsed buildings." Chris talked about the situation with Mark Dunlea for Hudson Mohawk Magazine.

  • Dear World - Voting Citizens (2023)
    Lavender took to the polls again this November to get some more perspectives for her Dear World series, which seeks to bring awareness to what people want from the world. This segment even features interviews from two poll workers, giving us an insight into the polls themselves.     DJ John Brown, who also goes by JB!! AKA Dirty Moses, will be deejayiing at Lavender's wedding this December! He joined Lavender and Vinny to talk about his work as a deejay and hip-hop artist in the Hudson Valley, along with things to know about being a deejay. He also even worked in healthcare!   • First Reaction Listening Session: Lookout Creek
    Composer and environmental sound artist Lisa Schonberg welcomed three listeners into the studio for an experimental "first reaction" listening session. Listeners responded in real-time to a composition they were hearing for the first time. The featured track was Schonberg's own work, "Lookout Creek: Eighth Notes," which she composed as an artist-in-residence at HJ Andrews Experimental Forest in Oregon. This month, Lisa is presenting this as well as three other compositions as part of the project "Old Growth Playback," which examines cryptic sounds in forest and urban ecosystems. As part of this project, Lisa is also presenting a free field recording workshop from 1-4pm on Sunday Dec 3, and a live presentation of the music on Sunday Dec 16, both at the Sanctuary.
