They speak about the Banff International String Quartet Competition/Festival and the winning New York City-based Isidore String Quartet. They formed in 2019 with a vision to revisit, rediscover, and reinvigorate the repertory, and the idea of "approaching the established as if it were brand new, and the new as if it were firmly established."     The U.S. Supreme Court has decided not to hear a challenge by the Green and Libertarian Parties to changes in New York State election laws that makes it virtually impossible for independent third parties to obtain official party status. The new law does maintain ballot status for groups like Working Families and Conservatives that nominate candidates of the major parties for statewide office.
