    Some residents of Harbour Point Gardens are still staying at the Travel Lodge after code violations prompted evictions in June. On Thursday Night residents of the Harbour Point Gardens Apartment complex had the opportunity to get advice from Legal Aid Society and the State Attorney General’s Office. One of the people who showed up to the session was Evarist Nicholas, who recently moved out of Harbour Point after 47 days in motels. Elizabeth (EP) Press spoke to her after the meeting at the Agape Apostolic Church, a few blocks from the apartment complex in South Troy.

    Last Saturday, the white nationalist group, The Proud Boys , held three brief rallies throughout Saratoga County. Now, members of the community are organizing to show that they reject the message of the racist group. The Saratoga Peace Alliance, along with the Adirondack chapter of the Veterans for Peace, is planning a rally on Sunday, August 13th. Moses Nagel spoke with Linda LeTendre to find out more details.

    The Rensselaer Environmental Coalition and Capital Region Mothers Out Front organized a press conference on Tuesday August 8 in conjunction with two hearings by the state DEC on the pending permit renewal of the controversial Dunn Construction and Demolition Landfill in the City of Rensselaer. The press conference and hearings were held at the public school adjacent to the landfill. In part two of our coverage, we hear first Bob Welton of the Rensselaer Environmental Coalition, followed by Assemblymember John McDonald, and former EPA Regional Administrator Judith Enck.
