    The city of Albany passed a new law in 2020 which gives extra investigative powers to the community police review board. However, the board still has only one paid staff member and shares legal council with the city and therefore, with the police department they are asked to investigate.   • NYPIRG Update on All Electric Buildings, Climate Superfund
    Climate groups are mobilizing against a push by the staff of the Climate Action Council to move the proposed date for a ban on gas in many new buildings by a year to 2025. Earlier this year the Assembly blocked any action on the bill at the last moment due to opposition of gas companies and unions representing gas workers. Anne Rabe of NYPIRG discusses the All Electric Building campaign along with the growing support in the climate community for a Climate Superfund Act to raise $3 billion a year from the biggest polluters.     The first tattoo that Krystal Ingram ever saw, was a tribal scorpion done in green, black, and orange on her uncle’s left arm. He got it as a memorial for her father. For her ten-year-old mind, this tattoo was the greatest way to honor someone you loved and ever since she has been fascinated with tattoos.
    Krystal Ingram works at Sans Souci Tattoo which is where Hudson Mohawk Magazine correspondent Aileen Javier, decided to tattoo her dedication to honor the loved ones that transitioned in her life in 2022. This interview was recorded at Sans Souci Tattoo while Krystal was crafting a magical tattoo on Aileen. Let's take a listen to the life of a tattoo artist -literally- at work!

    On Thursday, October 13, 2022, Hudson Mohawk Magazine Roaming Labor Correspondent Willie Terry attended the "Latinx Heritage Month Cultural Celebration" at Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC). The HVCC Student Senate hosted the Latinx Celebration at the Campus Center. September 15 to October 15 is Latinx History Month.     Columbia County Sanctuary Movement (CCSM) organized for the Excluded Worker Fund campaign. This work made it even more apparent that the NYS system is unjust and fails many workers. The Excluded No More program came out of this work. Iridian Lucas Garcia of CCSM spoke with Sina Basila Hickey about the Excluded No More legislation which will make it possible for NYS's most vulnerable workers to get access to unemployment compensation, no matter what they do for a living or where they're from.
